Ive been away but not gone…

Happy Holidays to all! Sorry ladies I have been busy with work and havent had a moment to blog or record any food. I have been watching what I eat and I started back exercising this week. Considering I havent worked out in three weeks I am surprised I have not gained one pound back. Thank God. But anyway, I dont know if I will have any time to blog much through the holidays with work being so swamped, but I will try. Getting back on the exercise wagon has been sorta hard, but I am motivated by the fact that when I dont work out my energy goes in the toilet, so I am back to working on and keeping myself focused on the end goal. I challange everyone to do something nice to for a stranger today. I adopted a angel tree child and bought christmas gifts for a child in need. I encourage everyone to help someone else today in some way. Hugs all around!

well ladies its friday, i hope all is well with everyone. my week since the holiday hasnt gone very well time wise. i have not gotten to workout since before turkey day and i fully expected to of gained some weight, however i havent, in fact ive lost another pound. i had intended to workout yesterday but i have managed to hert myself somehow in my sleep..dont laugh too loud, its funny though, but i woke up with this pain in my side, im planning on getting back to my regular workout schedule next week. i am juggling two jobs and been working my other job at lunch when i normally do my workouts, i am looking forward to getting back on track i have noticed a huge difference in my energy level since i havent been working out. i hope everyone has a great weekend! hugs to all. elayne

Hello all…

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I havent been blogging, Ive just been busy at work and havent had time until now. I did weigh this morning, I still havent bought a new scale, but at least the one I have does have consistantcy. It looks like I am down 2 pounds, but I wont be celebrating until I weight again at the end of this week and if Im still down two pounds I will know its for real. I upped my calories over since the last blog, I have been doing some research and reading up on some other sites and have found way more information than I ever thought I would need to know about losing weight. For now, I am watching what I eat, but I am not starving my body like I have felt at times. Also, some info about the eliptical, I found out that your feet going numb is very common occurance and even your fingers also, it is not exactly known what the cause is but it is speculated that it has something to do with circulation and the force of the movement on that particular type of equipment, there is nothing that really alleviates it other than taking a break, but I thought I would share so if anyone here is having that problem then it doesnt mean something is wrong. I read where people have tried different things like picking up your feet, some poeple take off their shoes and do it in their socks, etc. I have found that slowing down some and trying to stay off the balls of my feet as well as picking up my feet more all has helped some. Other than that, I missed my workout friday, but stuck to it other than that. So hopefully by the end of this week I will have good news to report on the scale. Everyone have a great day! :) :) :)

Sorry, I havent got to blog much, work has been busy this week, which is good, I need to stay busy or I go bonkers at work. I sit all day…yuck. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great week. I have decided not to weigh until Monday. I have been doing eliptical since last monday, today I am switching back to weights, I havent noticed any difference doing more cardio, BUT I havent been eating great either especially over the weekends, so I dont expect much right now, I am still focusing on keeping my calories down as much as possible, at least most days. I was shocked when I stopped at the store the other night, and for those who like icecream, if you dont already read the labels. My husband wanted some icecream and I thought I would consider some myself, I read the back of some HD yogurt supposidly low cal, but I compared it to Ben and Jerrys light and the light had less calories and fat, so just because it says low fat, doesnt always mean that is is lower than regular. I also noticed this with oatmeal, a regular pkg has 90 or so calories but one brand that was weight smart or something had MORE calories and fat. I am learning alot reading labels and I have learned to actually read them. Im sure many of you already do this, I always thought is was overated until I actually did it regularly. Anyway, just wanted to say HHHHHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO to everyone and thanks for being my buddies. This week has been sorta hard working out, I guess its time to change up and not do eliptical everyday, my knees are herting some, but I do have a question If anyone can answer it.  When I am working out on eliptical, about 20 minutes in, sometimes more or less, my feet go numb. WHY? it makes it very difficult and i have to slow down and try to get my feet to wake up, but I dont understand why my feet are going numb? My hands do to sometime, but I was just wondering if it was just me, or if this was common?

Tuesday

Not feeling much up to blogging, we have been busy at work so far this week. Havent lost any more weight. Ate kinda fatty over weekend, but maintained most calorie goals. I need new scales at home they are 20 yrs old, and off, when I weighed in middle of day before workout I had gained back my five pounds, but since it was middle of day Im not sure how accurate, so I am waiting a few more days and then I will weigh in when I buy a new scale I can depend on and report findings. I definately feel more energy when i work out, it has been hard this past week to push myself to workout some, just because it seems like resistance is up, but I havent changed anything other than I did cardio all last week and missed friday, which has been out of character for me, but I had some personal issues that interfered with my day that day. I wont miss a day this week, thanksgiving is coming up, I dont think I will make my goal of 20 pounds bythen. I am hoping to start seeing some loss soon, Ive been working out everyday with the exception of weekends and Ive missed twice since i started. I am being patient, we will see what happens, Im not giving up my workouts no matter what, I figure eventually I will see something on the scale. hOpe everyone has a good day!! For those who commented on me getting my workouts in during lunch, just so you know, I work a couple of blocks from bodyworks so five min there, five min to change, 25 min workout, then hit the shower and back to work, i eat while i work when i get back. That is how I am getting it in at lunch most days, not everyone has an hour lunch and not everyone works right down the street, so dont feel bad if you cant get it in, im lucky to be so close and I also get to eat while i work so that is a plus. Friday is nearing…

I must say that I live for the weekends anymore, I just never have time during the week to sit much until my kids go to bed, and then I have lunches etc for the next day…I am wore out by friday and ready to sleep in on saturday! I am sooooo glad that tommorrow is friday, the only thing that would of made me happier today is for today to be friday! I hope everyone had a greaattttt Halloween. I learned a couple of years ago if I let my kids trick or treat enough blocks they wear themselves out so much they pass out without eating any candy… laugh but its true, and last night they did, of course i will pay tonight, they will be munching away. I did pretty good, I snagged a few little minatures and some toostie rolls, but other than that I wasnt too interested in too much candy, I guess that is good for me, I have never been too much into candies. My youngest lovesss candy though, he is a candy monster,  I have to ration him a lot, I just wish I had his metabolism the boy is skinny and eats like he is starving. Well Im glad to hear that an average of two pounds is norm, I have heard this before on tv but hearing it from people who are doing it makes me feel better, thank all of you for you feedback.  I hope everyone has a great day today and I am motioning a thumbs up for everyone and sending hugs, we all need hugs, so hugs all around!! Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Buddies, I am shouting happy halloweeen to everyone!!!! I hope you all have a greatt day! I am feeling so energized after my workout today. Also, I finally found a calculator for the eliptical that would tell me how many calories I am burning when I plug in the amount of time on it, I was very surprised that 25 minutes burns almost 500 calories. For those who are interested, I went to kraftfoods.com and they also have other exercise methods as well you can figure on. I also went and looked up the target heart rate for myself, I may of already talked about this, but I am now including that in my daily workout to ensure I am working out hard enough. The company I work for is great, lots of people brought treats and goodies today, I made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and crumbled cookies and ghosts, goblins, bats, tombstones etc on it, but I have not eaten any of it, and dont plan on it. I did have a few goodies this morning, two tamales, and a few little mini sausages, i kept it to a min and small so to partake but not blow my calories for the day. I estimated my intake and tried to estimate higher. I worked out at lunch and then had a really light salad. I was wondering, I see that some of you have lots in excess of 50 pounds, I want to know how long it has taken for some of you to loose the weight you have lost, so I can get a realistic time table on expectations. thank you all for your input on the weight loss drugs. I will forgoe that option at this time. I watched biggest loser tonight and I was doing some math, with the exception of some they are losing on average of four pounds a week, so I am not soooo discouraged. Thank you also on the target heart rate, I didnt know that. My target rate is 163 but i have been running at between 189-205, is that bad if Im over?? these are the reasons that I love this site, the feedback is so vital as well as all the support.  The snacks between meals really helped today, I have been feeling so hungry and worried that i have been trying to shave off to many calories, and I am working on reucing the urge to eat on the go which has been hard just due to time constraints. This week for some reason my work outs seem harder than they did last week, its almost like I increased the resistance but I actually didnt. Well, thank you for all the great advice have a great night buddies!  :)
